Rather than hijack the Enduro thread, I'm starting a new one.
I've been looking at replacing my 2016 160mm Yari for a couple of reasons. One of which is the mid-level sensitivity through rock gardens, for example. Specifically, I've been considering the new Helm.
Is the TF Tuned Debonair Air Spring upgrade kit a viable option instead of replacing the forks?
Or a Smashpot?
So many options. I'm happy with the travel. The small bump sensitivity. The big hit capability. It's the mid-range that's lacking.

I think the damper is more of a problem than the airspring in a Yari - although when you’ve got it sort to pop a charger damper in it’s worth dropping a 2019 / 2021 airspring in at the same time. In theory the bigger negative spring means the start can still be plush but you’re running more air pressure which will hold the fork up in its travel.
The damper means the fork will get less spikey in things like rock gardens. I’d probably do both of those things before a smashpot / coil spring conversion. Although if money isn’t an issue then throw in a charger damper and a smashpot and I suspect it would be very amazing.
I'm looking to get an Avalanche damper over the winter. At one point, I'd considered the Yari as a chassis to uograde from.
Having had an Avalanche damper before, it's hard to beat something built for you than trying to adjust off the shelf. You've already got a great chassis, why not build on that
Air spring will probably improve sensitivity, and it's a relatively cheep upgrade, but I suspect you're looking at a damper upgrade to get where you need to be. By the time you've bought an air spring and a new damper, you've probably spent the same as buying a Lyrik Ultimate and selling the Yari, which is what I'd do.

Sounds like you need a better damper if it's feeling bad in the mid-stroke.
Even the original Charger damper is pretty good with a Debonair spring added.
Get the MoCo damper replaced with a Charger and that’ll make it a Lyrik. Preferably the RC2 (unless you like having an almost-lockout). That’ll improve the air spring curve too.

I've just done this for a friend, and it completely changed the fork.
The air spring isn't the issue, so replacing it with a coil isn't going to help.
The problem is the Moco Damper is incredibly rudemantary, no shim stacks, just a port, some plastic and an open bath.
Get yourself either the Yari Up, the RCT3 damper, or the RC2 damper. The best option by far is the RC2 damper.
Or go Avalanche if you can afford it - it's $500 + import duty. So, what $700? The RC2 is less than 300 pounds.
