Recently bought a fox tc performance for the gravel bike. The tc is sold in 40 & 50 mm variety however I was under the impression that the bottom of the range version is only available in 40 mm, which is the version I want to limit changes in geometry

just measured the stanchion however and it’s just under 5 cm, so I’m wondering if I was sold the wrong version. Anyone know if the fox performance tc comes in a 50 as well? And if so any way of dropping it back down to 40 ?

Or am I just measuring it wrongly and the Stanchion are always longer than the travel?

ta

Stanchion length isnt always the sme as travel. My old Pikes had 150mm stanchions but were 140mm travel however my current Fox 34s are 120 travel with 120mm stanchions.

Check the axle to crown measurement (should be listed somewhere) vs what you have in front of you. Exposed stanchion means very little.

Or put the serial number/4 digit code into the fox website, that will tell you what you have.

Just let all the air out and measure how much travel they have when bottomed out.
