Looks great and only give away about 300g - 400g to Red. But it was never going to be cheap and I think the £2k price tag includes the carbon crank with Quark power meter which would be a good £700 on its own. I think and is a good grand less expensive than Red if you include the crank.

I like alot...

Credit where due for a plain English write-up
https://singletrackmag.com/gritcx/2019/04/03/sram-offers-electronic-shifting-for-less-and-for-gravel-with-force-etap-axs/

The price is what it is, you can either buy it or choose not to because it's still early adoption. (hmm I wonder how many they will have to shift* before they decide they've broken even on the R&D?). if I was going to go for electronic gears I'd have this rather than anything with wires
*see what I did there

I suspect the * would be better placed after the word broken tbh.

Have 11sp eTap Red on my road bike and love it, if I was building again I'd definitely be looking further into this a way of helping the budget stretch a bit further in other areas.

Particularly as I'd want a power meter option.

Chainring size look interesting though...

1x? I'm in!! Literally just what I've been waiting for. Shame I spent a not insubstantial amount of money on a new 1x Rival gravel drivetrain last year so it might have to wait now!

about time, going to have to start saving for this, very glad I didn't upgrade my current 10 speed force for this season.

any guestimates how much shifters & derailleurs might come to?

Having a quick look around its looks like shifters and both mechs for around £1300. This isn't a "huge" amount more than 11 speed Red. Been looking at Di2 but do fancy wireless more

£1162 on one of the usual discounted outlets, assuming rim brake option.

So, just musing here, but do the STW collective think the on-the-street price of a complete bike will be more/similar/less than the equivalent Ultegra Di2?
