[Closed] New E Bike battery problem

I have recently bought a Planet X E Urban for commuting.

It has an Acer hub motor / battery system with very little information that I can find.

I am having a problem with the battery where the light start flashing red green when it is nearly fully charged. The very patchy manual said it is a "recoverable error" and I should switch it off and back on. I did and everything is normal afterwards. This repeats every time I do a full charge.

I tried Planet X and they told me to send the bike back to run a diagnostic. I am reluctant to do it as other than having to turn the battery off and on after a full charge, there is nothing wrong and I am loving the ebike commute which gets me out of the car.

Anyone seen something like this?

I have connected a power monitor unit to it to try and work out what is going on. It looks like the red green flash starts going whenever the voltage goes above 41.9v, but then it will continue charging for about an hour before the current drops to zero without the voltage changing which to me is pretty normal behaviour. It almost seems like an over voltage alarm has been set too low?

At the minute. Could be a cornucopia of problems waiting to emerge, of which this is just the start.

Thanks for the advise. I enjoyed the ebike commute so much that I didn't think about that possibility!

The bike was picked up yesterday and is now back with Planetx.

They even said it's not going to take long to sort and I will have it back quickly even though they are busy.
