I've just installed a new shimano hollowtech crankset onto my MTB. Using the same Hope bottom bracket I've always had. Reading the instructions it looks like the spacers at correct however the font dérailleur doesnt shift correctly know. Is this normal or have I done something wrong?

Cheers

Whole thing may need moving in or out a touch if the rings aren't in exactly the same places as your old set. Limit screw's and tighten/slacken the cable accordingly. Might need to move up or down if you have gone to a different tooth count by moving the clamp and also altering cable length.
What did you have on before?

Thanks for the reply Tracker. I had a Raceface chainset before and it could well be a different tooth count as I have had to reduce the chain length too.

try pulling the mech cage over the outer ring ( you may find it easier when the chain is removed). If there is more or less than 3mm gap between the mech and the chainring then you may need to move the mech up or down the seat tube to get it to work
