First, let me say THANKS in advance for any help you can offer.

I've got these wheels - Ritchey Disc OCR wheels - hubs have no number on them or anything - on a Boardman hybrid bike. They are cones and free bearings type hubs.

The cones are quite pitted and definitely could do with replacement. Any ideas on how to buy them? Nothing obvious at SJS or these sites:
https://www.boardmanbikes.com/gb_en/accessories/spare-parts/
https://www.bike-components.de/en/Ritchey/?m12010filterCategoryPath=60290000&m12010page=2

Seems totally stupid if they are impossible to buy. I'll post some photos in a moment. THANKS.

- Chris

Most motorways will have a few spare ones

Serious answer, you might have to buy the complete axle kit, weldtite do a range of reasonably priced ones and just use the cones. Or replace the whole lot if the originals are not up to spec

If you can still.het Shimano ones and they fit, that's what I would do.

You won't get originals.

The WMF site had a lot of cone dimensions on it and Madison are the uk distributor but as times passed less are available

You might get away with a generic / shimano axle kit and mess about with spacers.

TBH though, you might get away with just living with pitted races unless they're realllllllllly bad. Stick a tenner in a pot each month and by the time they're in need of another service you could just replace them with a comparable shimano set.

Hmmm. THANKS for the advice. Sounds like I'm not going to get exact replacements no matter what 🙁 Not sure what I will do. Maybe clean it up, put in new bearings and just let them get more and more pitted until something bad happens. Very un-eco friendly this. Will eventually result in me tossing a whole set of wheels (though maybe I can get a whole axel that will work but that seems unlikely to work with dust covers etc). Sad. THANKS anyway.

Sadly, this is why I long ago abandoned Shimano wheels and hubs. I had a set of XTR M975s that degraded so badly they couldn't be fixed except with a new hub.

Chris King - no bits, no bother.

The Ritchey wheels on Boardmans aren’t great. I had some on a 2010 Team Carbon and after a couple of years they were done. The rims were concave (rim brakes) the bearings weren’t great and then the freewheel died. I just replaced them with some Mavic Aksiums and they ran perfectly for 5 years or so before I sold the bike. Not fancy but just reliable.
