I know chain to cassette is critical when changing components, but will I get away with fitting a new chain ring and keep existing chain ?
Should say this is a single ring 1 x 10 set up thick/thin
Thanks

I've never used thick/thin (or a clutch mech) but in old money, old worn chainring and new chain often leads to chainsuck

I've changed a few times without changing the chain. Give it a go.

who knows till you try

I would measure the chain first then decide
You dont need to just because

I have certainly just changed components on drive train without changing the chain,
