Finally got my new frame today. Looking to build the thing up in time for summer.

Might get a bit of hate on here having clown wheels though 🙂

[IMG] [/IMG]Im going to buy parts i can find cheap over the next few months as well as swapping a few bits out from my other bikes.

I think the obvious fork choice are Pikes but unsure on whether to stick to stock 140 or get some 150's. I know theres a few guys run these on here......Has anyone tried 150's how does it ride?

Being press fit and classed as PF30 Id ideally like to run my XTR cranks 1x10 and use something like a praxis works adapter. I use one at the minute on my cannondale flash which is classed as BB30/PF30. Are BB30 and PF30 the same thing as i wouldn't mind using this adapter on the stumpy rather than buying a new one.

Next thing im undecided on is wheels. For those of you with the wide Derby rims what did they come to with final import charges? Im only going to buy the rims and get them built up.

I know theres a few of you on here who have them. Are hookless the way to go or should i stick to a beaded rim.

Undecided though on the derbys i might just stick with flows and pro2s

looking forward to riding the thing though - Hopefully ive made the right choice and wont be dissapointed in going from my enduro which has been faultless in the last 4 years of owning it.

Does this mean there's an Enduro Frame n forks up for grabs?

You couldn't buy a more different riding bike to the Enduro than the SJ Evo. Sure the suspension feel is different but the geo is night and day. Be interesting to see what you think. Best all -round mountain bike I've ever ridden.

@tymbian Possibly, I'm unsure on what I'm doing yet though.

JCL - Have you ridden both then? I'm guessing you own a stumpy?

Yeah had a 26" Enduro before a 26" Evo. Great bike the Enduro 26", far better than the popular 26" Evo IMO. Currently have an E29" Carbon and Camber Evo Carbon on order to replace an SJ Evo 29" (alloy).

If I could only have one it'd be what you've got. As light as possible with XX1. It's nuts how capable that bike is. Raced it in Whistler Enduro's and 40km XC races and it hardly feels compromised in either.

Thats good to know thanks. The stumpy does seem to get some love - loads of good reviews.

Don't think I can stretch to XX1 but hopefully I'll get it built up pretty light .

My enduro which is slightly different to the above pic is 27lb so not bad at all.

@tymbian Sure no problem - I'll let you know if I do decide to let go of it.

As a fan of Spesh and having enjoyed doing a few small changes on my camber 26er, I'll be watching the build with interest.

Enjoy the new bike.

Test rode a Stumpy Evo 29 two weeks ago. Very nice bike. 140 Pikes felt more than enough fork. XO1 drivetrain was nice and simple. Confident and composed when descending. Still deciding whether to buy and replace my ASR5C 🙂

Enjoy J273

Where did you get it from? I tried and failed to track one down.
