New bike finished and awaiting its first ride. A mix of new parts and bits and bobs from the STW forum so thanks very much.

Build is as follows:-
XTc frame, Fox F100 2008 (I think), Hope Hoops Pro XC6 on ZTR rims, XT drivetrain, Raceface cranks, e13 34T ring, Elixir 5 brakes, Ritchey bar and stem, SDG post n saddle.

Will need to get a chain device I imagine at a later date but loving the clean lines! Very light and looking forward to a summer of riding the trials and a couple of XC races (maybe!)

P.S I know the logos/valves don't match!

Enjoy
Matt

I don't usually like the look of Giants but that seems to look right. Is it a carbon frame?

Is that 10 speed or 9? and whats hanging off the rear mech?

Haven't noticed in all honesty - disc brake, cabling and gear set up done by lbs....15yrs f bikes still can't set gears up...will havea look later.
Cheers Kato!

there seems to be something on the back of the mech a little square black thing. Is that a cable guide thing on the new XT mechs? Think it might be this:

Just looked odd in that pic.

Ah.....that end of the mech I was looking where the cable came out....yes a bit chunky and overworked I think but shifting has been crisp on the road back from the lbs 😆

That's how the shadow mechs avoid 180deg cable loop - idea borrowed from SRAM I think, but works great!

First 60minutes on some trials after work.......sweet....amaing the difference switching back to HT from FS.....caught me out a few times.
Surprisingly the chain didn't come off once but was spinning out a lot on the 34T ring! Would going to a 36 be worth it?

I swapped to a 36t after two years using a standard middle chain ring - find it much better.
