Dear all,
I have a Cotic RoadRat - which has turned more into a GravelRat just recently. It is still on the original wheels - Alexis rims but no idea what hubs.
But 6 bolt disc.
The rear is buckles and has been straightened many times - so I thing I have to get a new one.
What would be good budget wheel set ( 700c) , 6 bolt disc and QR skewer attached?
Thanks
How budget are we talking?
Hope Xc or Pro2 on Mavic Open Pro rim is pretty robust, not too heavy and reasonably priced, should be fairly easy to find. Keep an eye on ebay for used ones if they are too pricey.
Mavic Allroad come with QRs and are reasonably priced
Had Hope 20fives on Pro 4s on my Road Rat which was most definitely a Gravel Rat, cracking bike. Not the most budget set but often come up second hand.

I've a set of Hunt Mason X wheels that are lightly used and in great condition, that I'm considering selling. PM me if interested...
I may have been a bit hasty - I have found a broken spoke ....
Let's see after than is sorted
Unless you've got no-name hubs*, it might be cheaper in the long run to get it rebuilt with a new rim by your LBS.
My LBS will rebuild a wheel for pretty cheap if you buy the rim/spokes from them.
*reason being, I'm never sure how to source replacement bearing etc for no-name hubs so their longevity is limited.
I have a pair of dt 350s on stans ironcross rims that doing nowt. Functionally fine but the finish has lifted on some of the spoke holes on the hubs. Touchupable thou.
