Hi folks,
I am about to embark on my first brake bleed because I have swapped forks and I need a longer front brake hose.
I have a hope mono M4
My questions are....
If I find some brake hose on ebay for example, is it all the same size...? or do I need something specific?
I trust you can just cut the plastic hose with a sharp stanley knife?
are the brake fittings like olives and washers reusable?
Thanks
Colin
Hope fittings are re-usable(as long as you don't break them), modern Hope hose is 5mm, doubtful that yours would be the obsolete 6mm, should be available off the roll from a decent LBS, and for the little extra it would cost, probably worth getting the genuine stuff.
Thanks, Is the 5 or 6mm the external diameter of the hose?
Thanks
Yep, external diameter. Also worth noting that earlier 5mm compression nuts had a 5.5mm bore, so won't take a braided(6mm dia)hose.
