Saw a review on bikeradar but can't find any other info anywhere? Looks like it's ****ing ace to ride so I'd be interested in finding out more!

I saw that and was surprised. There doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there, but chopping 200g out of the frame is pretty good going and makes for a properly light hardcore hardtail.

Waiting for this to pop up on their website so I can price one up.

That's what I was thinking Woodster! I do love my current BFe, but it's geometry feels a bit dated compared to my Foxy and I'm not a huge fan of the colours of the 2016 Vantage, so if this is competitive price wise (which I'm guessing it will be) I'll be very, very tempted!

Bird website is total crap, which is slightly hard to believe for a direct sales business......

Photos poor, lack of info, ordering procedure and info just plain bad. I've suggested the aeris to a few people, they looked at the website and gave up. Real shame as the bikes look brilliant.

I saw a comment on their facebook page from someone who read the MBUK review. I don't think Bird expected it to be published so early. I'm also interested but if the geometery in the review is correct I'm not entirely sure whether the zero is still more what I'm after. Test ride needed.

@Core we've got a new website in the wings which will launch with the new TR & AM bikes shortly - has loads more features/images etc. TBH we started the company on a shoestring so no budget for that kind of things... luckily the bikes have sold brilliantly so time to upgrade!

Yes the article came out ahead of our original schedule, which was a bit annoying! Sorry if anyone is left a bit confused. All will be revealed soon enough 😉

That is a matter of opinion 🙂

Nice if it creates a little extra interest in the new frame for Bird.

I was on the brink of ordering an Aeris. Does this mean a new, updated one is out soon?!

No Dvowles82. New HTs, no new FS bikes for a while (Think late 2016).

How does losing 200g from a frame make it so much more appealing?

From what I read (if I remember correctly) the frame is longer and lower. Further butting to the tubing gives less weight and may also change the feel. I'm only getting this from a magazine review so it could be complete bollocks of course.

I only took note because I'm feeling the urge for a new hardtail frame and Bird are within driving distance from me.

"no new FS bikes for a while (Think late 2016)"

Is this an Aeris update or something completely different? I'll ask you in person in a few weeks if you don't want to divulge all!

The Zero is their hardtail
The Aeris is full suss
The Zero is getting updated, the Aeris isn't

Not really that hard to follow

Dear Passive-Aggressive Iain1775,

Ben's post clearly stated the FS offering is being updated from late 2016. Seeing as I'm in the market for the Aeris I was, quite obviously, asking whether this will be a revision to the Aeris as currently known, or something completely different, like a 120mm travel 650b or a even a 29er (as they state may one day be on the horizon on their website). Surely that's not so hard to follow, is it?

I have a Bird Zero and I'm really, really happy with it. Its my first new mountain bike for a long time and I though the relatively long travel fork, wide bars and 650b would take some getting used to but it just felt great right from the first ride.

I even rode it 20 miles to work a few weeks ago (I was getting picked up straight from work to go away on a weekend's riding) and with the saddle up to full extension and tyres pumped up hard I was only a couple of minutes slower than on my road bike. So in its current format it's no slouch.

Pre-orders just went live on our website 🙂

P.s. We're still tweaking the site before going live with the new one

Any news on the steel hardtail that was mentioned in a post a few months ago? Good luck with the new website!

Got any demo Zero.TR's?

Weirdly without even knowing about that MBUK review I was just looking at the site this morning as I'd got a couple of days off and was thinking "I wish the zero had a bit less travel and a longer front".

Yes, we have demo Zero TRs in M and L

The steel hardtail is still a while off (the second prototype got torn apart during EN testing, so I have some design tweaks to make 🙂 )
