You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hi all,
Been an age since I've posted, but I'd like to access the collective bike consciousness, if that's possible... After some glorious biking in New Zealand over the last few weeks on borrowed bikes, both my wife and I have decided that it's time to replace our, so we're after some advice on what to try and whether anyone knows of any demo days (ideally, somewhere close to Edinburgh) coming up soon. I know advice is difficult/useless without an idea of what we ride - that's difficult to pigeonhole, but Glentress/Innerleithen are firm favourites. I'm looking for something a little more heavy-duty, as I like to take on the slightly steeper and more technical stuff (and I also have a hardtail).
My wife borrowed a Merida 120 and really enjoyed it, so will be looking for something similar. What else is worth considering and does anyone know of any suitable demo days?
I borrowed a Turner Sultan and was very impressed, apart from finding the steering a bit slow - it nearly caught me out a few times. I suspect that might be the larger wheels and longer wheelbase. For that reason, I'm keen to try out the Burner, but would be keen to hear about alternatives. I also like the look of the Canyon Spectral (although I don't know if I can try before buying). Anyone know of any Turner demo days?
Thanks in advance - Adam...
shoot an email to silverfish-uk and they will advise on a demo day for Turner.
Thanks - have pinged them...
If anything from Transition/Banshee/Yeti/Kinesis float your boat we have a range of demo bikes that you can book out to take down to GT/Inners.

Not as big a range as a full demo day but we do try and make sure we keep the most popular in. Helps if you are/can squeeze onto a medium.
Have fun looking at bikes!
Hi pigyn - sorry for delay in responding. You say 'Helps if you are/can squeeze onto a medium' - does that mean all your demo bikes are medium? I'm interested in the Scout, but also in the Banshee Spitfire - is that available as a demo?
If you liked the Sultan but wanted it to handle better I try the Smuggler or Phantom. The Phantom is better than the spitfire anyway................. 😉
Thanks Shackleton - I'll see if I can try all of them. Out of interest, why is the Phantom better than the Spitfire?
