After lots of research & finding it very hard to choose between full suss & hard tail (soooo much contradictory advice out there), I bit the bullet & got this Scott Spark 92 on Friday.

After an amazing afternoon at Peaslake on Sunday all I can say is I'm well chuffed.

I'd like to give Pedal On in Tadley a shout out. Great service.

Nice bike. Is that the 120mm version? I've been eyeing up the Spark as my next XC / trail bike if I ever decide to move over to 29 wheels.

I think you made the right choice going full sus. Its nice to have a hardtail if you can afford to run multiple bikes, but I'd always choose a full sus for a single bike.

Nice. Careful that saddle pack doesn't rub the stanchion on your dropper post. Can happen in a single ride.

Likewise the zip ties holding those mudguards onto frame and fork. Stick a bit of tape between them and the frame.

Why the saddle bag that means you can't use your dropper? The strap will likely start to score the dropper stanchion too, so I'd find another way to carry stuff if I were you. Something like a Little Piggy from 76Projects or a Dakine Hot Laps Gripper would probably fit somewhere inside the main triangle.

That looks good.

I echo the concern your seatpack will rub the dropper.

Cheers.

I’ve unfastened the saddle bag from the dropper post. Think I’ll tape it up or remove it so it can’t rub the dropper for now, but I’ll look at the Little Piggy and Dakine Hot Laps Gripper.
