Just had notification of delivery of my new frame..
It's Titanium.
Ooh baby.

Need advice on how to receive said parcel on what has unfortunately coincided with partners birthday - and not seem like a selfish douche.

Pics to follow. (frame. not partner. unless specifically requested)

How much did you spend on the partner? If it's less that the frame I would recommend... nah I have nothing you are screwed.

receive it, tuck it out of the way and don't open it until the following day.

I think it's been delivered to a neighbour, so some covert smuggling will be required

Think and know are two very different things entirely.

Can we have a clue as to which riding genre it is, i.e. xc, trail or dare I say road?

delivered to a neighbour

Any fear of the neighbour delivering the package to your partner before you get there to explain that no, it is not a birthday present?

Depends..
Is it a skew On-One TI or a bespoke Ti Blacksheep?
Either way, order in a dodgy takeway, pop on a Disney and head to the shed.

Deffo bargain end of the Ti scale, 29er flavour.

Have agreed to take her out for a meal tonight - hadn't thought of the neighbour interception, I suppose I could claim the frame is for her?..
'happy birthday!'

What's the best way to post images these days? I'll list one when I get home in an hour or so.

Gave up on photobucket months ago.

Some nice detailing for a 'budget' frame. No?

How does it ride?

Also, let us know about the bike when you have a moment.

Correct.
Seemingly released with little fanfare, but the numbers worked nicely for me so was just a case of waiting for them to discount the frames.
Nearly spat my Readybrek out when I saw they'd dropped the price -38%

Will post a mini review after I get it built and ridden this weekend

"Have Agreed" possibly the most romantic 2 words ever ...

That looks lovely! The finish on that frame looks on point. Just £610 too. What's the build spec? Are you running it for XC race duties or more trail bimbling?

Ha! Yeah, I meant that we'd agreed on a suitable venue (it's a big deal as we haven't eaten carbs for months). She was appropriately spoiled.

Will be building the 29er up with Fox 32s and Shimano 1x10 plus Spesh command post all from previous build.
Mainly trail bimbling/longer ride duties but possibly with a mind towards racing at BBD next year.

And yeah, £610 seems brilliant value. £11 more than a Solaris, figure it's got to be worth a punt.

Rides great. In fact, I was putting noodly steering down to the Fox 32s on my old frame - but this frame seems to have much more positive steering. Which came as a surprise.
Also feels nicely planted at speed, and dare i say it, less 'buzzy'.
Currently weighing in at 26lb on the nose (with conti mud kings fitted).
Happy.

You could take a family of six to Lapland UK for that. 🙂

All things being relative, of course..

I'm a Cotic fanboi - and have been very tempted by a Solaris having loved several Soul's, but I prefer the detailing on this Ti-29. And for the same money, it's Ti.
(which I realise may be a negative factor for some)

Would your partner like a Moots seat post?

Perhaps a picture of her with it?

26T! (oval) Was previously on fat bike duty, but I kind of enjoy the range now.

That is a real tidy machine right there.
Looking goooooood.

Those rims look extreme end of narrow. Are they carbon xc rims ?

That is very nice and I'm not normally a fan of skin walls on mtb's.

Where have they hidden the frame only option on their website?

Rims are 27mm Havens (Arcs). Gives a nice profile on 2.4"s.

Sssimon - forgot to say that I noticed they had pulled the frames a couple days ago.
I saw they had shifted approx half of the stock during the week or so they were on offer - my guess is they will use the remaining stock to build full bikes (better margin?).
Either that or they'll turn up again at £399 or summink daft
