The time has arrived for me to get a new bike and I've narrowed it down to a couple of options.

1 - Saracen Ariel 15x (pikes, xt gears & brakes, hope wheels, reverb etc.)

OR

2 - Canyon Spectral AL 8.0EX. (pikes, X01, guide brakes, sram wheels, reverb etc).

Coming from a Yeti SB66, to be used for all round riding in the Lake District and the odd bit of (comfortably mid pack) enduro racing.

Any thoughts? If you have any other ideas, the budget is no more than £2800. Go!

Whatever is wrong with the Yeti, make sure isn't with the new one?

There's nothing really wrong with the Yeti, I've just had it a couple of years and fancy a change!

Seems like a trade down just for the sake of it/to suit your budget.
Canyons are good bikes, I'd probably prefer the Strive but make sur eyou've thought it through. 650B isn't very different from 26 at all!

Get the Saracen, the bike made the Dirt-100 this year and they rate is as far more capable than it's 150mm of suspension suggest.

What swings it for me is your choice of build....the XT everything and Hope wheelset will end up being a far nicer bike than the Canyon covered in SRAM tat.

Ha ha, believe it or not, I am not the actual Justin Bieber! Stupid username - I should ask the powers to be to change it sometime... maybe...

I might just spend some money on upgrading a few parts on the Yeti...

Saracen will take a nosedive in value as soon as you hand over the cash - bear this in mind if you regularly change bikes!

Hi I drive a Lotus Elise and I'd like to buy a new Rove.

Saracen? No.

The Saracen will be used, and changing bikes is not regular - I tend to keep them about 2 years before changing

Why not just go for a frame only and swap the parts over/upgrade as you want. You could build up a much better bike than either the Saracen or Canyon that way.
