Morning STW
I've been riding a Lapierre X-Control 210 for the past 7 years and it's finally given up the ghost.
Ideally I'd like a short travel 29er for mostly XC type duties (Dartmoor) with some trail centre stuff thrown in (Haldon is my most local and frequent ride, 10 mins uphill riding from me), but haven't excluded a hardtail.
I have about £1500 to spend which needs to be on finance/credit card/cycle to work to 2nd hand is out.
I've been eyeing up the Whyte T129S 2016 (looks like there may be some discounted ones) and also the Cannondale Habit. Cubes also look good.
All help and recommendations gratefully received.
Thanks all
I can't see you going wrong with the Whyte, they're very very highly regarded. I'd also look on PAuls Cycles for any Giants that are reduced.

AnthemX for example.
I've got the T130 and love it... which is reduced at Winstanleys

Not a 29er i admit... but an awesome machine.
Cube stereo 120? Cracking spec, under budget and 0% Paypal credit. Weight looks amazing for an ally full suss if it's accurate.
Haven't ridden one but have owned cube hard tails, nearly bought the 140 full suss last year but grabbed a bargain second hand scalpel instead
Agree with all the above. I've had good customer service from Paul's in the past.
Thanks for the advice so far all. Any one with any other experiences or know of any good deals on?
Some good deals on 2016 Cube range on Chain Reaction (plus another 10% off with a British Cycling membership that costs £33). I've just ordered a Stereo 140 SL with Pikes, Reverb, XO1 drivetrain for £1539 with the BC discount. stated weight is just under 30lb
