After upgrading my hardtail a few times I ended up with a collection of used but good components hanging around in the garage so decided to try and find a decent second hand frame and build up a bike.
Apart from the chain set, headset spacers and grips everything is either from my parts stash or bought second hand.
Finished the build this afternoon and I'm pleased with it. Should be good for hacking about, bike packing and commuting (with faster tyres).
Nice job. Looks *just right*.
Very nice. Currently doing similat with an old hard tail that I was going to get shot of as donor. A freebie (but fairly minging) frame in a more appropriate size, some rattle cans and some cheap forks and it should be ready for bike packing duties.
That is a fine looking ride.
I object to the 'golden oak' fence stain, I have spent 5 years getting rid of mine in favour of 'dark chestnut'.
Very nice that.
The tapering gap on your gravel boards however...

Is that a Golden Oak? Looks quite red. Possibly a Teak perhaps?
Looks great!
Now all you have to do is stop yourself from upgrading all the parts off this one..

That’s one of the joys of living on a hill: the neighbours’ garden is always trying to push the barge boards over so it can roll and slide in to our garden. 😑
