Evening...

after an exhaustive 12 months of testing I have finally got a new biie. Nothing this side of the pond was quite right in the budget I had so I ended up going to canyon. I bought the nerve 8.9 (because of the colour, yes I know its shallow). I have immediately upgraded the wheels to kinesis maxlight ix and tubeless maaxis tyres, i will be putting a thompson stem and seat tube, and a wider carbon handlebar. Depending on how the brakes go I might put my xt's on and change the triple to double chainrings..... finally get a big ride on it tomorrw and get it muddy 8)
still what do people think.....

The moss between blocks is shocking.
The valve on the front wheel is on the 'A' and the rear on the first 'X'.
Horizontal brakes?
😉

Awful. Shocking. Abhorrent, actually.

One valve lines up with the a, and one with an x.

FFS! It's not that hard, you know!

My sincerest apologies, I shall immolate myself immediately!!! 😆

Brakes will be sorted on the shakedown ride tomorrow. I will try and get the valves lined up properly, next time.

Looks very nice, in a black and swoopy way. Enjoy your first ride! 8)

Valves and letters, not that fussed personally, but now they've been mentioned...

Must confess to thinking it would be orange in colour 😉

Yeah, what the hell is going on with those brake levers? EDIT: Too slow

Digital photography 101: There's no point obliterating every photo you take with the date as it's stored in the EXIF data so you can add at at any point afterwards if you really, really feel you have to.

Slackalice, it was very nearly orange but the build was soaring over the 4k mark and I just didnt have the cash. And I didnt know about the date and time thing. Will be changed when the pics are uploaded properly... I hope

So you spent 12 months choosing the bike, which you're now going to change half the parts on anyway? Well played 😉

Legend, I could have bought the top of the range sl version but would have ended up changing the wheels, I could have got the next one up but didnt like the colour. So I decided that getting this one and upgrading a few parts was the way forward. Not to everyones taste doing that but works for me.

Moss, valve/tire logos seconded. 🙂 But I am truly shocked at the horribly aligned Ergon logo on your handlebar plug. 😡 It needs to go like

And needs a dropper! 😉

Back tyre is on the wrong way round - which is a shame as that is the one that was lined up correctly.

Nice.
I bought a cheaper spec canyon a couple of years ago and upgraded straight away.
didnt like the sram / avid spec on the top line models so much like you went two steps down. I think you generally get a better deal with the mid range bikes anyway.
