Had a great week at Rivierabike, rode some amazing trails. Wife and I were both on their rental bikes, Nukeproof Mega AM. I normally ride a Transition Bandit, her some Cube 100mm travel thing.
She decided she wanted a longer travel bike as it felt so much more confidence inspiring on the techy stuff, and today went and bought a new one.
Great for her, really pleased she wanted it and is enthused to ride more burly stuff. Can't help being a bit green with envy though, my 26" Bandit is great, but she's gone and bought a 650b one. Luckily mine is green and hers is dark grey, but seeing her buy a brand new frame, forks and wheels has left me wanting something shiny myself.
So, now to decide whether I want a 29er hard tail or a cx bike more....

I'm not reading all that, I only clicked this thread as it said "wife content" in the title...

Disappointing...

Hmmmm, i was expecting some kind of transaction that involved you selling your wife to fund a new bike....

If your wife is content then your work is done.

Rivierabike great riding but the church bells send you half mental.

Buy both, then she will be the envious one leading her to buy another two bikes herself which of course in turn can allow you to better her again.

My wife has a carbon mtb and mine is alu. I have not yet come to terms with this after two years of having an inferior ride.

So you're envious because your wife has a trendier wheel size?

Here kitty...

Aye, they're a bit full on. Become quite therapeutic by the end of the week though. The mega I hired from them had the worst performing brakes ever, hopefully they have changed them.

Quite liked the bells but the river sounded like pissing rain every day I woke up.
Missus has never really shown excitement about actually choosing a bike before, she's only had 3 in 12 years of riding. It's usually me, in the shop with debit card in hand and a giddy flush at the thought of whatever shiny collection of metal that I've decided I simply must have.
I'd just shown her a pic of the new Transition 29er from a thread on here & she Googled stockists then insisted we drove 30 min to go to it. If I'd suggested that on a lazy Sun I'd have been given one of those looks...
