I received a new Bike ordered from Leisure Wheels and was delivered by Courrier on Wednesday but didn't get time to put it together or even look at it proper until Friday. Then I realised the mech was bent. So the bike can't be ridden. I assume it was probably damaged during delivery.

Think it's almost certainly the hanger that has bent - had similar with a recent bike delivery [not from LL). Just email them a photo and they should send a new hanger.

Not impossible that the mech might be a little out of kilter too though.
Any impact mark on the mech itself, showing where it was hit?

I see you've committed to another Specialized despite your misgivings though, hope this one serves you better.
I'm not sure, given your history, I would risk mail order. It's a bit late now I suppose but there's a bit of a guarantee of instant riding gratification if you pick up a bike from a shop.
Anyway, good luck getting it sorted.
When I worked in the bike shop, many bikes arrived with a bent hanger. There's a tool specially for straightening them. It's one of the many things the PDI (predelivery inspection) sorts out.
It won't have left the factory like that. Someone has crammed too many bikes into too small a delivery vehicle at one stage.

Not a good idea to straighten replaceable aluminium hangers, though - if there's one thing aluminium hates more than being bent, it's being bent back again. Best to just replace it.
Having adjusted dozens (hundreds?) of mech hangers on new bikes I'd say the subsequent failure rate is indistinguishable from those never adjusted. We're normally talking minimal adjustments though.

Good point, but requires an enlightened lbs owner. 🙂
If it's a mech hanger, get a new one from the supplier but then either bend it back as best you can or get the lbs to do it, or find a spesh dealer nearby and get a new one anyway. Always worth having a spare.
And then get out and get some mud on it.
