You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more

Built this up over the week for my 50th birthday. Out for its first test run yesterday, it’s a blast 🙂
Sonder Signal Ti frame, Chris King headset, Pike RCT3, Blue Flow Wheels, Crank Brothers Highline dropper, XT groupset (except for the chainring which is SLX for steel), Nukeproof Horizon stem and carbon bar, Magic Mary and Nobby Nic (both 2.6”, Apex sidewall), Fabric Scoop Race, DMR Deathgrips
Please rake the beach in future. #standards
That looks rather fun.
your hub colours are miss-matched! 🤤
Been hovering over the Sonder site for a while now.
Give us more info, like your height, what size you chose, how the build went, and most importantly in a few words what it rides like.
Lovely bike, but that rear mudguard :0
Two left thumbs up 👍👍
Can’t seem to get any quoting working so here goes.
I took the picture on a beach cos there’s no way I’m showing STW the state of my garden or flooring. 😀
The hubs are both blue, impeccably matching the hope seatpost collar. The rear hub has a wahoo speed sensor on it.
I agree the rear mudhugger is super-ugly, but one of the advantages of being this age is not caring — dry arse FTW.
I’m 5’8” with a 30” inside leg and got a medium frame. I could’ve probably sized up in hindsight, or put in a 170mm dropper instead of the 125mm. The build was easy, the internal routing is guided so you just feed the hose/cable in. The only negative would maybe be the fact the rear axle uses a T40 rather than hex.
As for how it rides, my previous bike was a much-upgraded Boardman Pro 29 — the Sonder feels as fast as that did, but much more capable. There’s no comparison when the going gets downhill or rocky, this thing eats terrain. I love it 😀
Damn it, I'd very nearly convinced myself that the mountain bike was the one I wouldn't upgrade for Ti for my 50th....
Can’t beat a Ti hardtail. Looks lovely OP (apart from the mudguard)
Nice. Get a photo up without the mudguards (it’s spring ffs 😏)
Here it is, fresh off the bike stand, pre mudguard atrocities. The bars were slammed soon after...

Like a lot if I did not own a Ti Stooge I would be having one of these! Loving my Sonder Evol and you can always tell an all weather mtb by the Mudhugger 🙂
The poor thing has to live its life in Scotland. If it wasn’t all weather, I’d never use it 😉
