I finished building this on Friday but being away all weekend partying I only got to have a spin on it this afternoon and I'm loving it so far
I don't have much feedback at this stage, it's been a while since I've been rolling with suspension so will be getting back into the swing of things asap.

Fortunately I get some very nice discount on all of the parts used.
I've got about 5mm clearance each side in the back, I'm on 40mm rims so they come up a little bigger, I'll be keeping an eye on it.

Had slight doubts on the colour myself but glad I went with it as it looks fresh, makes a change from the usual orange/black.

It's a large frame and the forks are 130's

I like it but youve gone way too far on the orange :(. I reckon with black headset, seatclamp and brakes it couldve worked.

It sure is very nice. I have the Bird Aeris in a similar colour. Does my eyes in after a while; maybe I should put those black flashes under my eyes like American football players linky. The only bit of your build that stands out is the NX derailleur. I understand the XG-1150 cassette as it's all steel and the GX shifter is the supposed to be the same as the X1 but even the GX derailleur is said to be a step down from X1. Given the budget for the rest I'd have gone X1 derailleur. Double-plus thumbs up for the rest!

I've never really been bothered about mechs even the highest spec ones are a very crude design.
The shifting on this NX is just as good as any from higher up the ladder IMO.
Mechs get wrecked and this is cheaper to replace when it does.

The mechs on my two bikes are the lowest spec parts they have, one SLX, one Zee. Both paired with Saint shifters, XT cranks and cassette and lots of nice Hope bits. But they work just fine (even after 2-3 years' use) and if/when they do get broken they'll be cheap to replace.

That's a lovely looking bike. It's got a touch of everything about it.

I like what you've done with the tyre logo also, you cheeky young scamp.

Hope you enjoy.

Looks to be just under 14kg on bagage scales. Weight was never really aconsideration though.

Anyway had a little photo shoot yesterday.

Looks nice that.

Not worked out why you would buy a Four over a Segment though.

Under 130mm travel = 29er imho.

It very nearly was a Segment!
Rode one of those back to back with the Alpine and the Five and it blew them away so started planning a Segment build then the Four was released, one landed on our doorstep and I gave it a quick spin and gelled with it easily, being as I already had a 29er I thought I'd give the 650b a bash.

Saw one of these in Airevalley Cycles and thought it looked ace. Wasn't so bothered when they first came out but having seen one it's now on the list. 8)

I'd agree bigger wheels are usually better, but it depends on the bike, they're obviously harder to package as travel increases, and that's compounded by the single pivot layout. That and looking at the bike, it's aimed at fun rather than going against the clock, so smaller and lighter wheels with bigger rubber probably suits it.
