Picked this up last week for Mrs Stu as she was after a new trail/mid travel 29er for longer days when a 180mm bike is a bit much...
Specialized Evo 29.
140mm rear, 150mm front and a 63.5 degree head angle 😎
Even came with an enduro ready bell.

A few mods from new including upgrading the mech to Xo and shifter to GX, Saint brakes and a 170mm dropper.

I very nearly bought one, went for an Enduro instead in the end.

Looks ace, the brushed finish makes it look very purposeful/proto/race to my mind.

I keep seeing these and it's one of those "itch that might need to be scratched" bikes.

If only they did a carbon fribe one with the picnic box...

We did ride past that way on our way to Kinver trails.
Both of us find it easier to just ride there on one bike each rather than ride a " gravel bike" with a trail bike over our respective shoulders so as not to upset the bike/terrain suitability judge.🍩
Seriously if you saw us why the **** didn't you shout up and stop for a chat you great big 🔧.

I nearly ran you over. I was the guy in dayglo orange in the little off-road truck (didn't you notice the pink Oakleys?!). It didn’t click until I’d gone past that it was you (just caught a glance of your bike) however I couldn’t stop, I’d just fallen in to an inspection chamber and was covered in raw sewage 😣😩 was racing off to get cleaned up

Really like the look and geometry of these Evos, wish they'd do a budget version or frame only.

It’s only horse riders I’m now not friendly with due to them making a mess of my lawn there and for the crap they’re causing at Kinver. Heh it’s ok, there was no chance you’d recognise me... though next time you’re passing look out for me, hopefully I won’t be covered in human waste.

Talking of Kinver I hear there are plans for change over there?
Personally I love seeing the longhorn cattle over there.

Well, depends who you’ve heard it from. If heard it from the horse riders who have frothed themselves in to an outrage then the NT are razing it all to the ground and having millions of cattle to scare their poor little horses, and banning everyone from using the site, or charging everyone, or fencing everything off so no one can access. They are pretty much spreading lies, being abusive, causing people to feel threatened.

Or, if you’ve heard it from someone with half a brain cell and have listened to what the NT are saying then the plan is to gradually (over 10 years) thin out *some* of the conifer plantation over Kingsford (this was planted for the war effort and is coming to the end of its life) plant some broad leaf trees, create more room around the existing broadleaf trees and revert some of the area back to lowland heath - all good for wildlife.
There will be a few cattle used to graze, it’s the most eco way to do it (horse riders are even complaining about the cattle giving off methane gas, which yes, of course they do, however all of their horses combined will give off more than 20 or so cattle).

Yes trees are going to be felled, but they’re at end of life and poor quality, and the type of tree they are they don’t take up as much co2 as broadleaf. Yes there will be new fencing put in for the cattle, however there will be (British horse society approved) gates.. there won’t be lots of them, once you’re in, you’re in, horses, bike riders, walkers etc can all still access the areas. Dogs are asked to be kept on leads during nesting seasons. And that’s it.

Sadly a few spoilt brats who aren’t getting their own way anymore (they’ve been getting away with riding everywhere on Kingsford for years as was never ‘policed’ by Worcs CC) have thrown their toys out of the pram and trying to stop any work being done, they’re coming up with any reason they can to justify their selfishness - the NT have even offered to make a whole new trail/bridleway for them.

Grrr sorry, you can see I’m wound up by the BS the horse riders group has been spreading. They make the Brexit leave campaign look like honest people

Houns.
I have no problem with the plans as i'll just carry on as I have been doing for the last 30 odd years.
jonesyboy.
As good as some of the trails are Shrewsbury has much better riding closer to home.
