With the recent thoughts of "Should i get that PlanetX CX/Gravel bike" and the "That Sportive at the weekend was fun, i wonder what it'd be like on a faster bike" and finally "Ooooh the White Roads classic is 50% off entry" and lastly the "Why would i ride a HT outside when i have the T-130 to use..."

I WhatsApp'd Crosshair to say "Do you still have the CX bike of yours, if so can i try it for a ride tomorrow"

Next thing you know, several messages had been swapped and i've bought his CX bike LOL.

It's a Scott Speedster CX10 with upgraded Mavic Aksium wheels but essentially fairly stock. Ultegra Cranks and some Shimano hydraulic brakes on there.. 11 speed...

How does it ride, i have absolutely no idea... i've just plonked it in the garage for now until i sort the Parkwood out for sale as i need to whip the forks out and give it a decent clean too.

So i've got a pic of the Scott, but that's about as deep as it gets for tonight 🙂

You know I said there was a back story to my new bike?   I originally chose a Scott speedster Gravel, out of stock everywhere.

Very nice, enjoy.

I think this is a 2017 model. Has a nice bit bf history as CH raced it a bit etc. Got some CX tyres as well as the GPs fitted.

WFH tomorrow so will either get a lunchtime run out of a Zwift race to test etc.

I think I only did 3 or maybe 4 races on it. Really enjoyed it but just struggle to find a niche for it now.

I bought it in 2016 but I don’t think they’ve ever really changed the spec.

Hope you get some enjoyment out of it- I had some good times on it.

The ideal/concept for me wasn't quite the reality...

I was thinking "Oh yeah i was cracking along the other day with the roadies" "I bet it's great fun on a better suited bike"

The reality is, it's just faster and more efficient.... not 'better' and didn't really fancy it.

Cool 👍🏻

Is it because the Parkwood hasn’t sold? You didn’t choose a nice day to try it out either 🤣 💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨🚴🏻‍♂️

NAh, i just rode it... as i was riding the only thoughts were "WTF, i absolutely hate this...." the conditions wouldn't have made it any nicer... I just jumped on the Parkwood and it feels 'right' again... .the wider bars just suit me... I thought having the wider tyres would give me what i wanted on the Scott... but it seems not...

Shame, but worth a try.... Great idea at the time.

Why not fit wider bars to it and a shorter stem, then give it a try? Would cost £20/30 to give you a wider upright position closer to the Parkwood?

Weeksy, did the wind blow a poorly positioned wheelie bin into your car last night by any chance?
