New bike day for my 10 yo daughter, the Kona Process 24 has been ace but she is ready to move on from 24” wheels!

Bike seems really good, well thought out and everything seems spot on. Canyons service, from set up, delivery and questions to spending extra stuff like free frame grommets, has been outstanding. We’ve only been blasting around the village, but she can’t half shift it along, and judging by the pace down rough slippy paths, everything works nicely, although I may fiddle with shock and fork pressures depending on how much travel she is going through on bigger jumps. Solid work Canyon 🙂 it’s going to be a fun weekend!

Lovely bike for a 10 year old - to think I was on a hi-tensile steel Apollo with u-brakes at that age 👌

@beamers no, I already had the dropper, it’s the short kid specific brand x which works really well, it’s a doddle for her to set at any position. At first I grumbled slightly about the routing as you have to take the BB out to fit it, but actually it only takes an extra 10 minutes or so and you end up with much neater cables. I’ve also put some flangeless (blue) deathgrips on now too and apparently it’s perfect 🙂

Her sprinting speed is daft, I’m telling myself it’s the racing Ralph on the rear that is making me put some real effort in to stay with her 😀

If anyone does order one, it’s worth asking for the grommet for the dropper instead of the blanking plug and also order the specific water bottle holder that has the dimensions and bolt holes in the correct place.

And yes, decent mudguards means lots more riding and I do like the latest mudhuggers 🙂

Ha ha @noeffsgiven and yes, good spot! She has always preferred using the middle finger for braking, she tried the index finger several times but always goes back 😀

Thinking of something similar for mine.

@mrchrist it’s the TLD Stage; Amber also has a really nice open face but much prefers to wear the Stage as it’s so comfortable, surprisingly light too.

Kids bikes are the best NBDs 👍

Although I feel like a cheapskate by comparison for keeping mine on HTs.

As a side note, re the bike, general water bottle holders do not fit on the 2XS, I measured and tried lots. So, I bought the Canyon side load holder, sawed out about 3cm of the lower ring and brought the ends together with electrical tape and a couple of gorilla tape anchors round the back. Decathlon do a 480ml bottle and the combination fits perfectly and looks spot on too, it’s hard to tell it’s been bodged! Or generously you could say hacked 😀

Amber had a PD day today so we headed to Llandegla for a very wet ride on the reds and blacks. The Neuron is faultless and interestingly, nothing that needs changing, although she has some Deathgrips on there now! Absolutely brilliant day 🙂

I had looked at the Rocket Ron’s relatively low profile with deep suspicion, but bizarrely, that flavour of it is really grippy on the rear in minging weather!
