At last, the new bike arrived today and it’s rather swish.
It does have some PPF installed in the chain and seat stays and under the down tube but I think a strip around on the top tube and behind the seat tube wouldn’t go amiss.
Neither invisframe or RideWrap do custom kits. RideWrap do a generic cover kit but I think I’d need wide bits.
Or possibly DyedBro kits, the plain ones. They do look like they might be a bit heavy though?
Likewise, BikeShield is very heavy gauge, but I suppose that’s a good thing right?
Yes, some will say just ride it, but I’ve had a custom invisiframe kit on my current bike from 2018 and it’s done an amazing job. I’m perhaps less bothered about covering every surface this time, but there looks to be obvious vulnerable ares.
Is it possible to buy the stuff in sheet and cut it myself (may look shoddy though).
I've had a few bikes invisiframed in the past but the last couple i've just stuck a dyebro kit on them myself.
I also did a gtechniq ceramic coating after id put the protection on. Not sure if it really does that much as i'm not a serial bike washer and polisher but it was free so i'm trying it.
The dybro is enough to cover high wear and main impact areas fine.
I've used Invisiframe kits and also rolls of 3M Hele tape from Amazon or Ebay cut to size and placed in key wear points. I've been just as happy with the latter and it's a lot cheaper. Good prep with IPA and heating the frame with a hair dryer before application and it's still doing the job years later.
Gorilla tape clear stuff, but it doesn't look pretty but it does do same job as expensive stuff (which still fails if bike hits hard granite or sandstone stone) for much less - but it looks incredibly industrial.
Have shack Wrap been mentioned? Don't know if they have something that might work?
Also see if Indiprint might offer something?
Send the frame to invisiframe or ride wrap and they will use it as the pattern...
I bought a sheet of film from invisiframe and made a template with paper and masking tape for a virus 20+. A year and a half later and it's still going strong. Bike still looks good. It's not 100% perfect. Worst around the fork and chain stays with plenty of bends
What frame? There must be someone that has a kit already. There are several companies doing customs.kits
It’s canyon Neuron OnFly. Invisframe will do free wrap using the bike as a template for future but I’d need to strip it the bike and send the frame to them it to them for a week or so. I’ve got a local RideWrap agent and they would do a 3d scan and make a template from that. Might go down that route yet.
I've used invisframe, ride wrap, hkt, Heli tape, cheap stuff from Amazon/eBay in tailored kit, generic kit and sheet form. Ride wrap is my preference, it seemed to go on easier in kit form and the last bike I bought a big sheet from them and custom made a kit.
I sent my Gasser to JMJ Designs/The Custom Bike Company, they custom cut some invisiframe to fit the frame as it wasn’t worth invisiframe themselves doing it. Fits perfectly.
I like the HKT kits. Dyedbro are also good maybe still going cheap at brink?
I’ve had good success with this when applied like invisiframe. I e also bought sheets of Xpel (invisiframe) from Amazon for about £25 and cut out the required pieces. Both work fine. I’ve got an invisiframe kit on a new Scott Genius too and they are very well designed and fit perfectly. No complaints for £80ish.

Hey rockhopper70,
Congrats on the new ride! What bike did you pick up?
If we don't have a Tailored Protection kit measured for your model yet, you can submit a request ( removed link ) and we will do our best to prioritize your model. When out tech team updates the status of that model, you will be notified automatically.
Alternatively, if you don't want to go with one of our Covered Protection kit options, we also offer Film-By-The-Foot ( removed link ), so you can custom cut your own protection film to fit.
Hope this helps. Enjoy your new ride!
