Finally got my hands on an Orbea Oiz Trail, probably about a week before they launch the 2020 models...

Seems perfect for the mile-bashing around here (Yorkshire Dales) with a bit of bikepacking thrown in later in the season. Already have an Occam AM which I thought was pretty light, this is considerably weenier than that...
I've had to stare at it for a couple of weeks waiting for a chance to get it to Lee at Invisiframe - who did a great job wrapping it while I was on my holidays in Pembroke.
Spec on the M10 was pretty decent - Fox 34 Stepcast 120mm, a mixture of various Sram Eagle, mostly GX, Mavic Crossmax Elite wheelset and Raceface dropper. Swapped the GX shifter for XTR, and so far, it seems to be working fine. Bit of a rats nest at the front with the suspension remote cables as well. Whoever built it up wasn't overly generous with cable lengths, had to move the lockout remote inboard because it stopped working on slightly wider bars (Spank spike vibrocore).
First ride tomorrow, hopefully.
All comments on the state of the fence gratefully accepted. 🙂
👌
I like that 🙂
That looks great. Would probably suit 90% of my riding.
There aren't all that many descents around here which require more travel. The Occam is mainly for Lakes/Peaks/Wales when I can get there.
Nice, I love short-travel 29ers like this. Not sure why I don't own one at the mo TBH.
very nice looking bike, love that colour scheme.
Got its first outing today in the Dales:

There are a few issues to sort out - the raceface dropper lever is wobbly shite and doesn't work well with the brake, so that will have to go, and tubeless has failed miserably on the rear crossmax - can't get the valve nut to sit flush on the rim, so air is pissing out of there. Don't know if it's user error or something else.
I was the weak link today. Have picked up a nasty hayfever related cough and was suffering badly out there. Just in time for the Jennride...
My crossmax's came with an offset washer before the valve nut. Got that on?
Ah. Wasn't in the bag that came with it - just the valve nut and a rubber o-ring. Would explain the problem though - the valve nut looks wonky against the rim.
This lot? Should I be putting another couple of orings in there too?

Also had the fun and games of not realising that the Eagle cassette isn't actually held on with anything off the bike, so ended up scrabbling around looking for the little spring which sits on the ratchet when the whole lot fell off into the grass...
Yes there should be an offset washer. They should come with the wheels.
Cheers! Will chase up the retailer.
(Do you use all three o-rings in a single tubeless setup, or is that just replacement bits?)
So, spoke to Mavic this morning, they told me that I didn't need the washer on the Crossmax Elite, instead I should put the valve nut on without the o-ring!
So, tried that, no improvement, so put another layer of tape on the rim in case the stuff put in by Mavic was failing, some improvement, but still losing air at the valve hole.
Never had this kind of bother with Stans or DT Swiss...any ideas?
I've never got on with the the Mavic tubeless valves. I relegated them to the spares box and fitted American Classic valves, no problems as since.
Cheers Tom. Swapped it out for a Stan's valve and that seems to have done the trick, fingers crossed.
