I previously owned one of the original MK1 Aeris 140s. This 120 has clearly seen some evolution. I had all the parts - short of a cable outer and some brake fluid - so this build cost me exactly the price of a 2nd hand frame. Running 140mm at the front which Ben @ Bird reckons is fine.
Ride it tomorrow. Quick spin round the block confirms the ML is a good size. I’ll probably buy a 170mm post at some point. And some proper boost wheels. And some 2.6 tyres. But it’s a budget build to save my RipMo from the winter grime. Some might argue my SolarisMAX fulfils that role but I don’t think there’s any need for that kind of talk 😉
Bought 3 bikes this year, sold three bikes. Probably need to stop for a bit.
Oh and that wall is nothing to do with me!
Very nice - (not 'budget' exactly is it?:) ), also running 140 on my 120 and it suits it well.

You need some kind of red detail elsewhere to work with the saddle, maybe the wheel stickers are enough.

1) the saddle came off my (red) Mojo3. I was determined not to buy anything new for the build. But now you’ve mentioned it, I might consider red hubs when I buy some proper boost wheels

Looks sweet! Seatpost looks really tall. Or maybe I'm just used to looking at my 29ers.
It’s a ML. Being short legged and long bodied, this suits me more than the original Large I had. It’ll get a 170mm dropper which is another reason for choosing a ML.

I do like the current trend of shorter seat tubes, longer reach. I’ve been waiting for that for about 20 years!

Been for a long tide in the FoD today. Ridden all the fun and cheeky trails while they are still dry. Had absolutely no energy for climbing but that’s not a bike thing. Might be a beer thing 🙂
It doesn’t feel short of travel, climbs pretty well (I used the lockout on road climbs), is very easy to carve between trees and feels very balanced. I’ll need to ride it so loads more to get a proper view but I’m really happy with it so far.
New bike day is ace and that looks a lot of fun. Took for Aeris 145LT out for the first time today and it initially feels faster down than the Mk1.5 it replaced.
<span style="font-size: 0.8rem;">Felt a bit harder work on the techy twisty flat bits but I've not ridden for 6-7 weeks so most likely me rather than the bike. Ha</span><span style="font-size: 0.8rem;">ving a rear tyre with some tread may have something to do with it as well. </span>
