Put it round a dogs head. It'll stop him licking his balls.

(coat on and leaving :O)

Doesn't line up with crank or disc bolts

It'll be for fitting behind the cassette then?

Thos long things are for tying round your forks and seatstays so that you wheels make cool motorbike sounds and the disc is a deadly weapon for throwing at any attackers.

So nobody else know, at least that reassuring.

It's sort of 160 disc size and thickness

It actually goes on your chainset to stop your trouser leg getting mucky. The holes are on a 110 and 130 PCD. Obviously gets included with every bike; not relevant to a MTB though.

Is your cassette on the left hand side of the bike? ? 😯

The dog is awesome 😆

edit: nope, I'm a **** the bike is upside down... 😳

I can only imagine it's some sort of trouser-protector that you'd zip-tie onto the outside of your cranks so stop chain oil ruining your sisters jeans. That would certainly explain the cut-away portion. It would only work on certain makes of cranks though. Perhaps if the OP told us what bike it was?

Love the dog pic.

Although I’m a bit concerned what people may suggest next as you are clearly happy give it a go and post pics of the result 🙂

In some markets a chain guard is a legal requirement on 1x (weirdly a front mech actually counts on 2/3x). I am guessing that maybe you have a German bike with a SRAM direct mount crank on it? I think you zip tie that to the chainring 🙂 The two holes presumably allowing for the different sizes of ring you might encounter.

Around the chain too I presume to aid chain retention?

Specialized? Trouser guard cable ties to a standard 104mm spider or an XX1 76mm offset bolt hole spider. Bin it 😀

He's had worse, both our daughters (9 & 5) have grown up with him, when they were babies they'd crawl on him ,pull his ears etc. He's been part of many a game, a princess, horse, dragon etc.

He's just so tolerant and placid, if it gets too much he just goes and finds a quiet spot.

But he's old now 🙁 and slowing down and sleeps a lot.

In my experience. If it is black, plastic, comes with cable ties and doesn't fit. It is a mudguard.

Step 1 - Turn your dog around so he is facing the other way
Step 2 - Take 6-7 steps back (Depends on difficulty level required)
Step 3 - Use 'ring' as fairground hoopla and try to hoop your dogs tail.

Bonus points if you manage it when he is wagging his tail or is a moving target

He deserves a pigs ear!! Looks good for 13 - our 8 year old lab/Collie is very grey round his chops (still fit and fast though) but looks like he has a very similar temperament!
