Ordered a YT Jeffsy CF Pro Race 29 in XXL a couple of weeks ago, with the £1000 off and a voucher from the demo day which gave me 10% off I got it for £3420 excluding delivery, and on Thursday last week (despite having to go and collect it from the DHL depot) this was sitting in my back garden...

Built it all up, and yes I know the saddle isn't straight...

...as what's the first thing you do when you've just built up your new bike? Take it for a ride, right? Nope. You strip it down to a bare frame, of course!

This was of course because I was applying invisiframe, I decided to do it myself and I'm glad I did, it was a fairly easy job and I'd happily do it again. It did take me about 4-5 hours and I was going a little stir crazy at the end though 🤣

And finished:

All the parts below are being replaced so this week I've been sending them off as they've been sold on ebay (just got the full set of guide RSC brakes and discs left, wink wink):

I've started building up the bike proper and today have just received the last parts I was waiting for so will be finishing it over the weekend.
Getting new parts delivered is awesome, the X01 cassette is both massive and sooooo pretty, I'm not sure whether to mount it on my wheel or on the wall...
More pics to come! 👍
Its a nice spec bike. I amazed you can be bothered with all the faff of buying it, then selling most of it on ebay.
Wow, that's a lot of bike! Lovely!!!
That is awesome, can I ask how tall you are for the XXL?
Its a nice spec bike. I amazed you can be bothered with all the faff of buying it, then selling most of it on ebay.
I agree the spec is awesome as standard, but I fancied putting some nice parts on it, parts I've always wanted to have and selling the bits not required when they're brand new means they're worth a bit than they would be 6 months time. Most parts have been changed for a good reason, so it's not all just changing parts for the sake of it. 😁
That is awesome, can I ask how tall you are for the XXL?
I'm 6ft 3in - I'm technically between XL and XXL, but my last bike had an ETT of 5mm longer than the Jeffsy, the reach was 495mm vs the Jeffsy at 510mm so it felt right at home and no bigger than my last bike.
Proper tasty them Jeffsys. Nice.
Is that the flidlock bottle?
It is indeed, the only bottle that will fit into the frame. Haven't used it yet but the magnets seem bloody strong.
Ohh, share some details on the new parts you're putting on!
Least your fork steerer will be long enough 😉
Those new Jeffsys are mint. I did the same and stripped down my Capra to apply the invisiframe when I got. Well worth it IMO.
Lovely! You going AXS?
Ohh, share some details on the new parts you’re putting on!
Some red parts, some black parts, some red and black parts! 😁
I haven't decided whether to change the fork decals yet, will probably build the bike up fully before deciding on that so will need to wait to do the fork invisiframe.
Lovely! You going AXS?
No, not yet anyway! I will be sticking with the fox transfer too for a while, I want a reverb AXS but I'm going to wait to see if they bring out a 200mm version.
And, it's done!

Weight without pedals or bottle is 14.2kg. I forgot to weight as stock!
I still need to do the invisiframe on the forks, I'm not going to change the decals (was going to go for a red and grey one) and I think it just needs a red Hope seat collar to finish it off.
It's very much overkill for the gnar of Kent, but I intend taking it much further afield, including southern Spain in November.
I need to give the rear brake a quick bleed but other than that and the fork invisiframe, it's finished!
Rear brake didn't actually need a bleed after all, just needed the pads aligning properly.
On the subject of pads, I've got the standard fit organic (red) pads in at the moment, there's certainly no lack of power! :O But if the sintered pads are the way to go, I'll fit those instead.
That's a bit nice! I keep threatening to get one of those One Up tools, but still not got around to it.
They're very handy, I keep mine in the pump attached to my gravel bike, and now in the stem in the MTB.
The new one up stem means no need to thread the steerer tube.
Wow! Lovely build - love the attention to detail
That is a lovely looking bike.........but the untrimmed zip tie on the rear brake hose just ruins it for me 😀.
Haha, I meant to say that's been trimmed properly flush now 😉
Also, paving needs some moss removing and a few weeds. 🙂
I got the stickers from oneup for the bars but I don't think it needs them, there's just the right amount of red up front at the moment.
Looking great mate and cheers for the brakes.👍
Off to google those brakes, they look miint.
Nice.
If you'd not said it was a 29er I'd have assumed it was 27in - 'cos of the size of the frame.
Good move. The base price was incredible with the 10% off.You probably could have sold all the parts separately and turn a profit.
When I bought my Jeffsy (2016), I totted up the cost of all the components - not at list, but at the price I could get with a quick Google search. It came to £5k, for a bike I paid £3.5k for, and there was still the frame to pay for. Fantastic value, and a brilliant bike regardless of the cost.
Have you taken it out yet? I’m about to order but cannot decide between the 27 and 29er. All my previous riding has been 27.5 wheels but the only reviews I can find are of the 29er
Not yet, I'd need oars and/or a snorkel at the moment here.
I always preferred 27.5 wheels, every 29er I demo'd just didn't feel agile or playful enough. Until I demo'd the Jeffsy, that is.
At 6ft 3in 29 wheels make good sense for me, and not only is it more agile than my old 27.5 bike, its loads faster too. All the advantages of a 29er without the disadvantages. The carbon wheels undoubtedly help that but I've ridden other 29ers with carbon wheels and they didn't feel as good as the Jeffsy.
On the tyres, they're a little narrower than I'd like (had a 2.5WT minion DHF on the last bike) but I've heard good things so thought I'd give them a try.
Thanks for the feedback. Did you demo the 27.5 version ?
No I didn't, I was going to but didn't feel I needed to after riding the 29er. I wanted to move to a 29er so was very happy that the Jeffsy gave me what I wanted from a 29er.
The 27.5 version will be brilliant too, I'd just choose based on whether you prefer something very agile vs something faster and better rolling over stuff.
Nice brakes! I went for an Easton bar with a bit of red though…
Nice! I've got the stickers for my bar but I'm not sure whether to put them on.
I set the tyre pressures earlier, at 25 rear 22 front they felt like about 30psi, that'll be the inserts them! I'll probably end up going a bit lower once I've ridden it a bit.
I was gong to take it round my local trail centre as a shakedown ride but having sold my car today, it'll have to be on some local trails! That's if it ever stops raining... 😐

Was thinking of getting the Oneup stem to allow me to fit the tool.
Question though, will it allow you to store the larger CO2 cartridges at the end of the tool? (Can't remember the size I am referring to.lol) You need the larger ones to fully inflate a 29er tyre from flat. As I found out once... Got a few from On One and take one in a pocket or wherever but would be nice to stuff it in the steerer attached to the bottom of the tool.👍
I hope you say it won't fit as that will save me money.😁
Sorry - if you mean the 16g catridges then yes they fit 😀
Edit: according to Oneup the 20g cartridges will also fit.
but I fancied putting some nice parts on it
what's nicer than XTR?
GX eagle rear mech
GX eagle shifter
ah. oh.
what?
Haha yeah, I didn't want to spend too much on the rear mech and shifter as they may be getting upgraded at some point 😉
Same reason I've left the standard fox dropper lever.
Couldn't quite justify going AXS right now but give it 6 months...
First shakedown ride done, 9 miles round some local woods and lanes. The rear hope brake is squealing a bit but there's certainly no shortage of power.
Bloody flies along on the flat, and Eagle is sooo nice, shifts are crisp as you like. I've only taken off 2 clicks of HSC on the forks from the recommended settings but it's already feeling really nice, but I need to go to some proper trails.
It's changed out there so quick, my last off road ride was the start of September in the hot and dry, it's now muddy with the trails under a carpet of conkers and leaves.
