Have a desire for a new bike. Just a trail bike for mincing around on. At the moment I can't look past a Giant Trance 1.
Is there anything else out there that I should be looking at? Orange 5 was the first thing i looked at but the premium for one down here in Aus is criminal.
Do not really have any brand loyalties but I think the Euro direct sellers are out do to postage issues.

@ Mike. Yes been looking on there and seen a Trance with $1000 of list price. That is what has got me looking.
Ride Redhill, Youis and Lysterfield mostly.
That Trek is a bit fugly and with dodgy Enduro colours too.

If it was me I'd take a look in My Mountain on Lygon, I Ride on King St, and Spec on just off Brunswick and have a look bounce & feel of a lot of bikes in a morning. Not sure where the giant lot are in Melbourne.

I have one bought as frame only, running 160mm forks although it was also great with 150mm Revs.
Very light bike, don't know how Giant do that with aluminium but it's incredible....rides great, the Meastro/DW link rear is one of the most refined in the business, even though it has 'only' 140mm of rear travel you'll struggle to bottom it out even on big hits, hugely impressive and until the new Reign came out this year it's what the Giant Factory EWS team were using for racing Enduros through 2014.
Well the keeper of the purse strings has agreed and I have bought a Trance 1. Got a good deal from the local bike shop so off to pick it up in a minute. Excited is not the word!
