You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
My 2014 Trance 1 factory wheels have served me well, but a combination of rim dings, snapped spokes and rattle-y hubs has finally convinced me to upgrade.
I'm kinda lost in the options at the mo - I know iI want bombproof hubs for muddy Sussex riding, need to be tough enough to handle 3 or 4 trips to rocky trails a year with lots of mistakes from me. I'm not too bothered on weight or tubeless, and I don't want to spend more than about £300 - any suggestions? Have you upgraded yours? Good experiences and bad...
Thanks
Last years DT Swiss 1700's if you can find them on clearance.
Based on your description I'd say M's unless youre a big lad in which case go for the E's, which are heavier but tough as.
I have the same bike and had some Hope Enduro
Live in the Peaks so ticks the muddy and rocky box 🙂
Ubyk have them for £340 for the set. Bit more than you wanted to pay but they've been fit and forget so might be worth it???
Or I have some OE ones off my 2016 Giant Anthem which have done less than 50 dry miles and have an XD driver which can be yours for £40 delivered if you are in the Eastbourne area.
If you want budget ones but that should last you could try DT Swiss e1900. I’ve been smashing them about for over a year with no maintenance required.
Hope Pro4 with Arch MK3 rims or i’d be tempted by the new Hunt Trail Wide wheels, look incredible value and a very good weight for a 30mm ID rim
Thanks for all the help - I'd seen those DTs at Bird earlier, you persuaded me. Nice.
