Hi, after a quick blast on the old Cotic Roadrat this week I've decided it is time to finally give in and fit a wider bar to it as the one that is on there is far too narrow. The only slight problem with this is the existing bars are 25.4 mm and I'd rather not have to replace the existing hope stem I have on the bike if at all possible.

So, can anyone point me towards some flat bars, that are at least 650 mm wide, that have a 25.4 mm clamping area? The only one I've been able to find so far are some on-one fleegle pro bars but I'm not too sure if I can bring myself to buy white handlebars or if I'd get on with the 15 degree back sweep.

Your problem may lie in the ‘new’ part of your request. At best you are going to be looking at NOS stuff.

I’d be looking at eBay/classifieds, or at changing the stem.

If you can take a bit of rise:

There’s the old Titec Flat Tracker, but I doubt you’ll find one and you’re not having mine 😉

New Stooge bars, although they might not be quite what you're looking for.

I know what you mean about the colour but Fleegles are actually really nice bars. I’d give them a go.

Thinking about it, I've actually got a 25.4 Fleegle at home, in silver and never used. Not sure what width it is, presumably 660. But if the colour was the main thing bothering you and I can somehow be arsed to post it…

The sweep does definitely feel different to more normal bars, though. Whether that's a good or a bad thing is obviously completely subjective.

SJS is a good shout.

There are quite a few around if you could handle a decent amount of sweep, like the same as the Fleegle's or more.

On One Mary, Surly Open, Soma Odin, some Fairweather 3-piece thing at PX...

Not sure about wide straight bars though

Even SJS didn’t have anything that ticked all the boxes when I looked. You’re mostly looking at 620mm or less, or a riser, or a sweep, or a combination of those.

That Ritchey Comp might work if I have any spacers I can shift around to drop the stem a little. I'll have to check tonight as I can't for the life of me remember how that's set up at the minute.
