Any chance of either of them being in stock with a UK supplier this side of Christmas?

I’m looking for a 120/130mm XC/Trail 29er fork and these two look to be the best options for light and stiff forks. But finding either in stock in the UK seems impossible. I like the idea of the transfer ports on the new Fox 34 and the 35mm stanchions on the SID so don’t really fancy the older models. Second hand is rarely an option for me anyway though as I need around 210mm of steerer and everyone seems to cut theirs much shorter than that.

Do we still need to do this to make a thread visible, or is it just that there really is no UK stock?

Last I heard on SIDs is that some stock will arrive in UK before the year end, but I would expect most or all of them to be already sold to customers. Find a dealer, get your order in… waiting for an “in stock” message on a website, or to see stock on shelves, is a mugs game for premium forks over the next 12 months.

I've been after a set for my new build for a while too. Was set to buy some when in France for my summer hols. That fell through with lockdown. Mate was in Spain and said he'd receive them for me, but then all the shops were out of stock😟. Apparently due in sept last I saw. I'll check back then, but will have to pay import taxes.

Just watch out on the 35mm SID. Seems to be some well documented bushing issues. I bought some (120mm Ultimate) for my new Spur build - they sat in a box for a couple of months before going on the bike due to parts being hard to get hold of.... and then immediately off it and into SRAM warranty! Huge amount of play in the front. Didn't even turn a pedal with them on. Reading through some forums it seems I am not alone, and that warranty sometimes fixes it after a lower replacemnt. Not sure if it was an early run issue or fundamental problem with the platform.

Thanks folks. I was leaning towards the Fox 34 SC anyway, but that news on the SIDs kind of seals the deal. Seems as though it’s all academic anyway. I’m not going to order something that might arrive in a few months. I’d rather wait for them to be in stock and see if I still want them then. So it sounds as though I’ll just have to live with what I’ve got for the next year, which is probably doing me a favour really.

How about the new DT F232's? they're supposed to be as stiff as a 34 and come in 120mm?

Dan from Stanton's running a pair on his own bike and seems pretty impressed with them.

Thanks @hatter I remember I looked into these a while back, but can't remember why I rejected them now. Probably worth another look.
