There appears to be 10% off at Cycle Republic until 10am on Friday 16/3/18 as well although I imagine Halfords will be doing some sort of sale at Easter when you can use BC membership to get another 10% off.

Looks like the entry level full suspension has gone up to £1200 but has gone boost

The £1600 one has got worse spec compared to the  pro fs from the last couple of years. Lost it’s pike for a new revelation (although at least the new revelation has the same chassis as the new pike), downgraded GX to NX and lost the Guides for Level T’s.

I hope the mentioned slacker geometry in the blurb is worth it / puts it right up there with other decent trail bikes. I couldn’t see a geometry chart.

My 2016 Pro 29er is 11.7kg so that 12 kg weight is quite believable.

The good old Boardman FS is history then?

The Boardman FS Pro turns into the MTR 8.9 for 1.6 k?

All not clear to me. Hope they keep the 1 k full suspension bike and the FS Pro with the Pike...

Looks like the FS Pro willbe on it’s way out. Apparently replicaced with a frame that has slacker geometry (not sure how much slacker yet), but losing the pike / GX / Guides. Although the new revelations are probably still good for the money.

Jolly green giant-how do you find the 29er?

I just picked up a brand new pro off eBay for £520,  all black Reba ,full gx,guide r brakes etc. Utter bargain I think! I've added a dropper and put on my own bars, stem and pedals, not ridden it yet though.

I wish some manufacturer would have the balls to do a budget gravel bike with mini v brakes instead of discs, they'd be able to offer better spec, lighter weight and most of the benefits of discs, without the cost.

I'm actually interested that someone hasn't already done this, suggests it costs more to build a frame/fork with canti mounts.

@AlexSimon:

thanks. That's good.

If this is the case: neat that Boardman tries to move into additional "new" directions as well. Design is always also about "taste". Have to think about these new top tubes...

In the past: Boardman did a great job for us mountain bikers. Lets wait for the first reviews of these new bikes. Hope: they will be really good again!

Beginning to get  less and less value for money aren't they. By the time you add a dropper you aren't far away from the price point of a canyon spectral and I know which one of that pair I'd choose. I bought a previous years trance for about 200 quid more than that and it had carbon wheels, xt, and a dropper. In fact every component was better other than the fork who was also a rev.

Also, says its eligible for a cycle to work scheme. How does that work as as far as I was aware you can't add your own cash to top up the 1k limit can you?

My C2W scheme at works allows you to go up to £2k so I could get that £1600 bike. I don’t think that’s where I’d be spending my money now though. The previous pro fs looks better value for money (especially at £1350 which it’s often been discounted to) and a nicer looking bike.

Mm93. Really happy with mine. I had an Anthem 26 before but got fed up fettling bearings and for most of my local rides which are a mix of bridleways road segments and bridle paths a 29 er makes more sense.

Great kit selection on the the Pro 29er. I’ve changed the saddle but everything else is stock. Will be putting a wider set of bars on and swapping to Barzos when the MKs wear out.

Can’t go wrong for the price you paid.

As a user of the '17 Pro FS, I feel that this new one leaves me flat. Will run mine for another year then look at something like an S150...

This is really superficial but I wish they'd sort their paint finish and graphics out. Looks really naff,  like it belongs on a £100 BSO, not a £1K+ bike.

I have nothing against the brand either, I own one of their road bikes and it's great.  I wanted to replace it with a newer model but they just look shite.

Anyone got any of these yet? Dont see any reviews yet on the usual review sites... I have a 2016 team (bought last year) and love it.

My Marin is 12kg, currently on sale sub £1k.

I think we are all used to beefy FS bikes these days - a well specified HT can be surprisingly light.
