New job means cycle storage is through the office & out the back.
Currently using and old 26" mountain bike but its a ball ache threading it through.
Looking for a smaller (possibly folding) 20" wheeled bike.
Very little on the market seems fit the bill.
Wish-list (in no order) is:
Small
Lightweight
Discs
Mudguards
6+ gears
Internal gearing
Basket / Pannier compatible
Doesn't cost more than my car
Would like a Cannondale Hooligan or Brassi but they both have quite big compromises.
Other than the Orbea Katu, which isn't that easy to get hold of, any other suggestions / recommendations?
How much did your car cost?
I would look at the Kansi twenty 3
It only has 3 internal gears but its robust, 10kg'ish in weight can get mudguards for £20 panniers etc can be fitted.
They are usually cheaper than the Dahon.
They also do a sick mag wheeled one if you fancy a bit of 80's BMX style
@Dorset_knob
2k 6 years ago / £500ish now
@nwmlarge
Not sure 3 gears would cut it, I have hills to contend with also not seeing what (other than folding) it does the Katu doesn't.
Moulton has to be on the wishlist for small wheel bikes although would have to be 2nd hand seeing your budget.
I have a Birdy blue which I got nearly new for £400 a few years ago and that is quite nice and capable of v. steep 20% hill if I go the long way home from work. Not fun enough that other bikes aren't usually taken out first though.
Also spotted this the other day. Frame only nearly under your budget and build up?

I'll be selling my Birdie in case you're not far from Edinburgh (and interested).
@Slowol
I quite like the Moulton range but the only ones that ever come up are the old single beam frame ones not the lattice frame ones.
Th Neutrino is kind of what got me started looking at fancy small wheel stuff for the commute. Might be a touch bling for all weathers but I wouldn't say no. Again though, it might be nicer than the Katu but isn't really doing anything extra worth the cash.
@cynic-al
I'm Sheffield based but thanks.
When I worked in a bike shop we sold dragon bikes (occasionally) sold about 2 of them and pretty sure they both ended up being returned after not long because.... Well they are rubbish basically
Also that should say Braasi bike not Brassi.
