Used to be able to buy any size 10 shoe and they would fit usually but those days are gone.
Taking my cheap spd shoes (only used on Zwift) to a cobblers to see if he can beat them into shape. I'll cut bloody holes in them if I have to! 😁
However, I need flats for riding my MTB. My beloved Freeriders no longer fit. Just not wide enough so really painful to wear.
Tried some Ride Concepts Hellions but that came up a bit short and no where near wide enough.Â
Â
Someone must sell some really wide flats for biking?Â
Can anyone with similar for issues give some for advice please.Â
Thanks as always.

Surgery. I had a longstanding bunion removed a couple of years ago as it was gradually getting worse and worse. Took about 10 months to go through the various NHS hoops where they insist on trying you out with orthotics first, then do another assessment, then eventually book you in for surgical assessment and then the actual surgery. After that were two further delays due to dates getting mixed up but the surgery itself took about an hour, I was out same day.
The relief not to have to put up with that any more was incredible.
Long term that's the solution, I agree mate. What this is really about at the moment is I'm desperate to get on the bike. I used that word advisedly. I'm struggling a little at the moment but biking always helps. Not being able to do it due to bloody bunions is just really, really depressing.
I'm on a waiting list for a spot of neurosurgery, potentially, later this year. The bunions will have to wait but im desperate to get on the bike this Spring/Summer and just need to get some shoes to wear that arent agony.☹️
How are Crank Bros for width? Â
Just spotted while surfing Planet X and they look a decent shape to me (no bunions just ugly wide feet in my case).Â
Â
I don't think they've come up on forums as being wide fit as such but I'll look into them, thanks mate.
Â
We have Freeriders, Impact Pro and Specialized 2fo DHs. They get wider for us in that order.
I've got a wide forefoot and Crank Brothers are good for me. Â (better than 5:10)
Â
Definitely give them a try
I am in the same boat (Well boat sized shoes anyway) I'm a 12(47eu) but a 6E width but not depth so 6E shoes move around a bit but 4E bunch my feet up so after 2 hrs my feet go numb.
The only solution I have found is shoe stretchers, takes about 2 weeks to get them to the point of comfort.
Not tried them myself but did wonder if Lems Trail shoes might suit, especially with a larger platform pedal.
Thanks all. 👍

After a bit of googling I've gone for Tracey's suggestion with the Specialized 2fo DHs. Fingers crossed! I can send them back if necessary of course but I'm really hoping they fit.Â
I suffer from a large bunion on my right foot and it's caused a (now removed) Mortons Neuroma.
Specialized 2FO work best for me now, I sized up from my normal 43 to 44.
I have some Shimano GR5s that are a few years old and they're about the most comfortable shoes I've got... they're not going anywhere near a bike anymore!Â
I think the bunion will need to go in next couple of years as it's impacting the other toes, not yet painful though.
