i want an audax bike. i want a black bob jackson end to end audax bike, with mudguards and a rack. in my naughty little wandering must have must buy mind i'm justyfying it in terms of... its got a rack so all those little runs i do to the post office, supermarket etc i can do on the bike and save fuel. plus i'll get more training volume in by default so double joy. and its only 450 frame/fork, which i reckon is chump change for a hand-made frame, even though i have no spare change at all right now chump change or otherwise. but of course i can strip down my spare cx bike for stuff so it'll be a cheap build (which never works because i always end up deciding i MUST buy better new kit). of course i have got two cx bikes already, and a road bike, and 2 mtb and a jump bike, and my classic old orange p7, and a classic 80's barry chick in bits... but none of them can take a rack, except of course for the p7 BUT its got 26" wheels and not 700c, and it would'nt be as efficient... so sod can't have, don't need and all that. i CAN justift it and I WANT! p.s. and i already have the brooks b17 champion, carrdice barley, tortec lite rack and panniers, so whats the issue with buying the rest?

I'll just remind you of my mate's definition of a bargain, 'Something you don't need at a price you can't ignore!'

I dont need the bikes I have, really I could do 99% of my riding on the sanderson and the tourer, the road bike, fixie, BMX, 456 (and others) are completely surplus.

I like the road bike, but hte tourer is 90% as fast.

I like the 456, but its overkill south of the watford gap.

I like the fixe, but only to look at.

I like the BMX but rarely use it.

Come the summer and priorities flip 100% and the sanderson and tourer will languish in the shed an dI'll be lusting after a pitch again.

I am lusting after an Anthem 29er and keep doing some creative maths to persuade myself I can afford it, including selling my Swift, Superlight and carbon road bike but then I always realise that it is only one bike and no way will it ever be worth three bikes.

Then I think... well it costs me quite a lot to maintain five bikes and keep them running nicely, maybe if I just cut down to the Giant, a CX bike and a fixie I could keep them in the style to which my wife would like to become accustomed and I have to fight that one off too.

Then I think, ooh, wouldn't it be nice, it is another NEW bike and will be so much better than my others.

The way to eliminate this urge once and for all is to confide my urges to my wife and then flee! As it happens, I quite like the fantasy of buying the new bike, wheeling it out of the shop, driving to the nearest trails and riding like a God.

Isn't reality a bitch?

I really want a set of point one podium flats, i have accepted i definately don't need them as my superstar nanos will not give up the ghost however i can't stop wanting them and next payday i will be purchasing them in raw finish.
I don't need them, they definately aren't worth the cash but i want them and will buy them regardless. It's mugs like me that keep the bike industry going so there is a positive lol!

Which one of you was it who persuaded me I didn't need those shoes? They were less than £60... now they are £105!!!

Definitely don't NEED them now 🙁

How much will you use them - if you will continue to use your other 'n' pairs and have a regular niche use for the new stuff = then do it
otherwise don't and MTFU

I don't buy stuff in sales it falles into 1 of 3 categories:
1) Stuff I really want and is a bargain price, but I'm a medium and so it's either not in the sale or has gone
2) Stuff that's at a price I can't ignore, then I get it home and realise why no one else has bought it
3) Cr@p
