[Closed] Important to clean pads after installing new rotor?

Installed new rotors, any need to clean the pads or will they likely be fine and the rotor get bedded in without issue, wo me scrubbing them down w sandpaper first?

As long as you wiped any oil off the rotors, they should be fine once they get bedded in.

At the least I would clean with alcohol and burn them for a bit with an open flame to consume any contaminants.

Nope.

Install rotor, go ride. Never had issues. They "bed in" while riding.

I don't usually bother to bed in with new pads. Ride a few trails, use the brakes, job done.

Well, new rotor you may have to re-align caliper or adjust bite point on pads if they are adjustable, if the rotor isn't fitting well. Depends on the state of the old rotor and if the pistons are centred.

Actually I have more issues if I fit new pads as they are more faff to get rotor clearance. A lot of pads are so thick out of the packet.

New pads are out of the question, plenty of life left in the ones i have, but considered washing them or scrubbing them with sandpaper. Seems like it's not really necessary.
