You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I need some new forks for my Mk1 Solaris and I'm struggling to find a second hand pair, so looking at new, but not many non boost models around and I question myself should I really be investing £500 notes on a pair of non boost forks (PIKE RCT3 on CR)?
My wheels are Hope Pro2's on Stans.
Would I be better placed buying a pair of boost forks and having the front wheel converted?
When I say converted, I don't really know how, but assume I fit some sort end of end caps to the hubs and space out the rotor?
Advice appreciated, Thanks.
I'd get boost forks and use adapters.
Hope front hubs are dead easy to convert to boost. They sell a 10mm longer 15mm adaptor for the non-disc side, and you redish your wheel over by 5mm.

I recently found myself in a similar mental turmoil but at the other end (of the bike - not my head), but the all comforting arms of the singletrack massive convinced me that boost was the way forward (for the industry - and the bike).
Lots of Pikes come up on the for sale forum, non boost?
It's where I've got my last 2 from. I can't afford new forks, the prices are mad these days.
If you are getting new, go Boost though, it's the way it's heading....
If you do go boost there's still some cheap 130mm 34's available here....
^^ That's a good price!
wait till next year and get the next fad?
I'd wait till the fad after that one I reckon. 😉
Play it safe.
