The boys dropper won't stay up and I don't have a spare 30.9 seatpost. If anyone happens to be local to these areas and has a basic post going we're in need of his ride tomorrow may have to be cancelled!

I don't as I'm nowhere near but is there a local Halfords?

Edit - just checked their website and they don't appear to have any seatposts that size other than a 125mm reverb AXS dropper for almost £800...so that isn't good unless they have something in the actual shop.

Their website doesn't even list regular seatposts.............. Minor pain in the bun to get down there and back tonight

I've got a couple of 30.9mm 170mm droppers in the parts bin. Crank brothers highlines.

But I'm just outside of Leeds though, so about 60 miles away.

Depending on your timings...
Giant at Doddington Hall near Lincoln are showing a basic 30.9 x 440mm in stock £22.99; open at 10am Sunday.
Sherwood Pines cycles website doesn't show parts they stock but fully equiped workshop and large hire fleet so...worth a call; open at 9am Sunday.

Is the kids dropper post long enough to raise it high enough when dropped to be workable?

What dropper Post is it? Can it be serviced?

I think I have one.  Off a 2006 Ragley Mmmbop and I'm sure it's 30.9.  Not going out to measure it now though, I'm knackered and getting ready for bed, sorry.   I can check in the morning for you if you are interested.  I'd be a 12 mile/half hour detour away if that's OK to you.  I'd offer to run it closer to you but got a lot on tomorrow as well as keeping the kids occupied.

*edit* it is long, about 400mm if I remember rightly so not sure if that creates any issues with bendy seat tubes?
