You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Looking at a new road bike later this year and wondering if it will be worth going along to see what's there on the Sunday. Will it help me or just leave me lusting after high end stuff beyond my £2k budget?
I went last year and had a great time.
I'd suggest it's a good day out whether you're looking to buy or not.
It was good to see and handle stuff - so yeah good for window shopping.
I did notice that the usual 'show price' wasn't all that good! I checked a couple of items against internet prices (on my phone there and then) and found that the 'show price' could be beaten quite easily.
It's good for a nice wander to look at some stuff but there are some big brands missing and even those there won't have every bike available.
JAG is right about show prices too, though there are a few bargains if you dig deep enough, I got a job lot of brake and gear cables from Fibrax for very little.
We enjoyed it last year, it's a good mooch about and the bike test track was good fun.
It's good fun but weirdly, it wouldn't be my destination of choice for buying a bike. You're limited to whoever's exhibiting, and no bargains.
Go anyway though.
go to the pinarello stand and kick alan sugar in the knackers.
