A brilliant wee cheeky loop up by Angle Tarn, followed by an out and back of the ullswater path. All in wall to wall sunshine, excellent start to the year of lakes trips. Met a group too, sure I recognised a couple from on here, one of them possibly claireymorris?.

Great day for it.

Looks awesome.

I'm particularly envious as I was supposed to be doing my first bit of "natural" lakes riding on Friday but my broken elbow has some loosening metalwork so I stayed sat on the sofa instead. Sulking.

I spent my first night ever with Mrs Gti in a tent pitched on that little peninsula above the rider in picture 3, above. We skinny-dipped in the tarn to applause from passing walkers then drank a Sancerre chilled in the water. The next morning's bathroom routine was a bit hurried though thanks to lack of cover.

Clare, I didn't want to do the whole 'are you' thingy, quite embarrassing when they say singlewhatworld? I'd imagine!. Who was the guy I was was chatting to with you lot, riding a cotic with an impressive beard? I recognised him from somewhere, as did my mate, but can't think where from....

Cheeky Angle Tarn route?

Quite simple, up from Hayeswater reservoir, then peel off before you get up the grassy bridleway heading for the knott. Along Satura crag, angle tarn, boredale Hause, then FP descent to the wee barn cafe at the start of the ullswater path. Only 2 hours, not much hike a bike, and some lovely trails.

that's a great route, I've pushed up the Knott a little for the extra descent. And that descent from Boredale is fairly full on in places, FP definitely an easier ride than the BW.
