You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Further to my recent threads my DJ101 arrives today and I popped out for a quick ride at lunchtime on it at the local pumptrack.
It’s got a really nice frame and fork - then I think they’ve kept the cost down with a lot of no name parts that are all perfectly serviceable - just not very exciting. Rear hub is almost silent sadly - was hoping for something as noisy as my Hunt rear hub on the road bike!
Ride wise I’d say it’s slightly slower rolling then my cruiser bmx on 24” Billy Bonkers tyres but it’s still pretty efficient. The forks seem to do the job well - the damper adjustment takes it from fully locked like a rigid fork to just over an inch of travel based on the current air pressure in the fork. For pump track usage I think this is about right as you don’t really want much suspension movement.
Jumping it feels more secure than the bmx and less likely to hurl you to the ground. All round it’s smoother. Weight wise I haven’t weighed it but it feels quite light to me.

Your tarmac is in need of attention.
Just needs a gold Burgtec stem cap and bolt.... Whatsapp me your addy and i'll throw it in post tomorrow 😀
Your garden has a lot of rules.
Nice ride. 👌
Almost looks bone colour to me mmmm
Be interested to know how forks feel to you and wondering how much all in
Yeah I’m not sure what the colour is meant to be - just thought it was cream really.
Forks seem ok - I’ve got them setup not to use much travel as it’s pump tracks I’ll be mostly using it for. I can open the compression damping and have an inch or so of travel, or turn it the other way and completely lock them out rigid. They have an airspring but I haven’t touched whatever pressure is in there so far. Rebound is middling - but I think this isn’t that important as there isn’t much travel being used.
Would it be possible to put a huge dropper on it so you can pedal to the pump track while sat down?
I don't really know anything about jump bikes!
Not a clue - but you just stand up and pedal - don’t sit down.
