After selling Kona Rove gravel bike last month I was going to build a rigid 29er to replace it. But as I had barely anything in the parts bin that would fit, it was just going to cost too much.

The LBS happened to have a lush Cervelo ZFS-5 120 in the window for a third off & that looked just the ticket. Plus it could carry 2 full size water bottles.

Light, fast & comfortable to ride all day, but alas, only medium sizes available.

Watching some reviews on the tube led me to the Epic with the same design.

Then up pops a Chisel. Fast, comfortable & nearly as light, but a lot cheaper & METAL!

The basic plan is to just leave it stock & just ride it.

But you probably know that didn't happen, seemed rude not to grab a longer dropper while I was at the checkout. Mainly because it will also work on my Banshee Rune so it's Fox Factory dropper can get a service.

Now I'm just waiting for the rain to stop for a minute so I can go & smash some laps.

Looks smart. You'll love the 29er pace.

But rain? You big tease, I'm setting up the fire pump here!

Nice bit of convict stonework there 😀

Good choice - I have a Chisel swapped wheels for some lighter Hunts and some Mezcal tyres and it's a great xc bike. Enjoy smashing some laps

As a full member, I just upload direct from phone and insert, really easy.

Yeah, I can just upload from my laptop's library since the upgrade. Used to use Dropbox before that.

I think straight from the phone is the key. Saves transferring photos to the desktop.

I was looking at these - saw one just like yours in the local Spec concept store and it looked pretty ace. I was thinking about a frame only build (the pink frameset is on offer at Certini)as I have spare wheels / bars / stem / brakes / tyres etc - but got offered a carbon 2022 Trek Top Fuel frameeet and forks for a very decent price so gone with that.

Hope you enjoy the Chisel - should be really fast cross country / on flow Singletrack!
