You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
So after 6 months of trawling the internet for the right parts at bargain prices and MANY questions on here (thanks for all the help / advice) I’ve finally completed my first, from-scratch bike build
Test ridden around the local park I think I just fell in love, if nothing else, it’s also great to look at…planning to see how she fairs on something a bit longer and of mixed terrain over the next weekend, I’m excited!!
Still looking to change forks for bouncy flavour, tyres for my preferred rubber, and a dropper post as soon as the blown budget recuperates but for now…it’ll do
Specs for anyone interested…
-Surly 1x1 frame & fork
-Hope 1 1/8” headset
-Burgtec mk3 enduro stem
-Burgtec RW 800mm bars
-DMR deathgrips
-SRAM RSC brakeset
-Gusset lofty seatpost
-Gusset S2 AM saddle
-Shimano SLX M7100 crankset & 32t chainring
-Shimano MT800 BB
-Gusset Doublesix SS conversion kit, 17t sprocket
-Surly Tuggnut x2
-Halo vapour 35 supadrive wheelset & Halo hex nut skewers wearing 2.1 Conti race kings (for now)
Anyway, enough of all that…Picture time…
Very cool! What order do you think you'll change things?
I've got a similar-ish bike (Brother Big Bro) but I'm running that 1x10. I had considered fitting a dropper, but probably not a suspension fork. Although that's mainly as I already have a hardtail.
Probably dropper first, definitely needs a dropper
tyres when these ones have had enough and then forks if the itch is still there
That is seriously nice 😍
Love the colour.
Matches your unkempt lawn 😉
Really like that 👏
Ha ha it’s a lot more GREEN in the flesh, she’s a purdy thing for sure, kinda hard to get a good picture of the colour
The lawn…local authority walkway…my lawn is mostly plastic…and currently littered with water balloon remnants thanks to the rugrats
A little close to what the colour looks like, can’t quite get it on a phone camera
That is way nicer than mine ever looked.
Glad to see its as SS should be - rigid.
Please keep it that way.
Very nice.
It's going to need a very short travel sus. fork to replace the standard ones.
I’m led to believe 100mm would see it about right
Very nice 😎😎😎
An early 1x1 is on my bucket list. An incredibly versatile frame.
Agree on the SS rigid comment ^^
Looks lovely, don't vandalise it with suspension! A big front tyre and some Oneup compliant bars will take a lot of sting out of the trails 🙂
