After much valuable advice from you lot on dipping my toe into the world of curly barred bikes for the first time, my new one arrived today. Sonder Camino Ti GRX 2. The weather has been a bit gopping here and a lot of the back lanes are still flooded but I snook out for a quick 20k country road and bridleway blat after assembling it. I put some flats on for the first ride, whilst I got used to the controls and riding on drops, but I will swap these for some SPDs tomorrow.
Early days but I'm really chuffed with it. It's nimble, light and quick (compared to my mtbs) and comfortable (so far - obvs needed testing on longer rides). Riding full pelt down a very chewed up, badly potholed track without any suspension took a bit of brain calibration, but was loads of fun! The weather is looking better tomorrow, I'm looking forward to taking it for a longer ride.
Very nice. I bought my Camino three months ago and already have 750km on it because it’s great. I went for an Alu frame and AXS gears, but sort of wish I’d done Ti with GRX mechanical gears. Some teething problems like the bike arriving with chips on the paint I wasn’t made aware of, despite the PDI sheet saying I had been, but a few emails later and a £100 apology voucher was on its way which was fine.

Mine has the cables going through the head tube,which I wasn't that impressed with.

They must have, into the down tube and fork top, not head tube. Looks neat enough to my uneducated eyes.

this is 100% why I love riding gravel bikes, the modern mtb just makes my local trails boring, it's way to good at ironing out the bumps. the Gravel bike brings back the peril of not knowing if you'll still be on the bike by the end of the trail. it's an adrenalin rush that i just don't get with my mtb.
oh, your brifters look fine to me, don't hcange anything until you've a few rides under your belt and got used to it and then see how comfy you are before moving anything, it's not a road bike so don't follow any advice based on road bike "rules" they don't apply

I am soooooo tempted to get a Camino Ti to go with my Broken Road but can’t justify it no matter how hard I try.

Try brakeless fixed gear, it takes it a bit further and I think that is why I keep going back to it.
Looks great, sure you will enjoy the Camino Ti as much as I am.
