Replaced a v2 camino with a fustle causeway using a C2W voucher for the first time - yes I know the telegraph will now be after me. Camino was brilliant and I rode 3,000 miles on it but I fancied a change and moving to a gravel frame with more aggressive geometry.

Gravel covers a wide remit doesn’t it? Lots of nice bikes but they’re conservative (or sensible, depending on what you want) in their geometry. I guess it’s all a compromise on which bits you want. I was waiting on the bird gravel bike but it’s seemingly at the go quicker scale of things, and I’m after a bike packer / explorer / local bridleway basher with speed not really a factor.

First shakedown ride was today. I ported the grx groupset and superstar wheels over and brought a few new bits, included stupidly wide Ritchey bars…

whether it’s the bike having a couple degrees slacker head angle, whether it’s the much longer reach, whether it’s the wide bars feeling much more like a mountain bike…I’m not sure, but the off road bits were a lot of fun, helped by some dusty March trails.

Looking forward to more time on this. Fustle were great to deal with as well, quick comms from their main guy himself when asking inane queries.
