hi all
I bought a 2016 Cube Stereo. Ride was great and I liked it a lot. However, design/build quality of key components meant a new frame in 2017 and a Cube customer service problem.
Fast forward to today and management at Dales Cycles in Glasgow having insisted on Cube giving me a 2018 bike as replacement/good will have followed through on their promise. So, today I picked up my nice/beautiful 2018 Stereo.
Just got it home and set up the brakes, dropper and saddle height just how I like it and will hopefully get a quick ride later.
Again, big shout out to Dales for following through on their word. I’ll get back with a review in a week or so.
Pics please!!! 😀
The stereo 140 is right at the top of my list of 'dream but realistic' bikes, specifically in the TM build with fox factory everything 🙂 the 2018 frame is new for this year and has much more up to date geo.
What model did you get?
I’ll get pictures when it stops sleeting/snowing.
I have the Race model (blue one) in XL. I’m 6’3.
This weather sucks, but it is dumping snow on the mountains again, so skiing into May is going to happen!!
Pootled around a bit on my new steed with my 5 yr old on his, so no full review yet. One thing I can say is that this bike is much more playful, lively than the old one. The XL frame is perfect for me at 6’3. The finish on the frame is lovely and the blue is a shade darker in real life compared to photo’s.
Talking of which, how do I add a photo using a mobile?
What problems did you have with the 2016 model?
Dropper broke, B.B. loosening, then top pivot broke on West Highland Way then bottom pivot broke inside the frame getting stuck. Took three weeks for the dropper fix then 13 weeks for the frame replacement. Rode nicely though!
Dales insisted on the 2018 model due to the issues and inconvenience as the 2017 wasn’t plain sailing either. I believe the assembly line caused most of the issues.
Apparently Cube also have a new rep for the uk which means issues are sorted much quicker and more effectively. He picks up Bikes in person from shops now if there are any issues like mine.
Dales are very good shop. I have had nothing but good experiences with them.

That's very good to hear, this is going to be up against the Canyon Spectral for me, the spectral is very playful and confidence inspiring so hopefully the stereo can match it.
To post pics you need to upload it somewhere (imgur for e.g.) and then you can post it - see here https://singletrackmag.com/forum-help/
